Bethany Assisted Living, Statesboro’s only independent living facility, is expanding its current campus with 14 new cottages and a community building.
“With the continued growth in the area of Bulloch County and the aging population that has exploded, there was a general consensus that the cottages that we constructed in 2019 were meeting a very immediate need for seniors in Statesboro and surrounding counties and thus, our decision to construct 14 additional cottages,” said Carolyn Phillips, chair of Bethany’s 10-member board of trustees.
The board of trustees also recently approved the construction of a new 4,000-square-foot community building. The building will be a place for residents to engage and interact with each other and the local community.
“We are equally excited about the construction and the impact that the Community Commons at Bethany building will provide in continuation of our legacy of innovation in senior living,” said Becky Livingston, CEO for Bethany.
“The collaborative work of an exceptional design and construction team, including Greg McKenzie Builders of Vidalia, represents the effort to bring a common space for the individuals that live on the Bethany campus as well as other visitors who may come to our campus and enjoy the benefits and opportunities for support and engagement targeted towards seniors,” Livingston continued.
Bethany Assisted Living is owned and operated by the Primitive Baptist denomination. The facility currently has the capacity to serve 83 seniors with traditional assisted living, memory care assisted living and independent living. For more information, click here.
