A large crowd came out Friday night, August 4, 2023 to cheer on Bulloch County High School Football teams, including flag football, cheerleaders and bands. The Downtown Statesboro Development Authority hosts the annual F1rst Friday Downtown Pep Rally, sponsored by Statesboro Natural Gas,
Statesboro Herald's Jim Healy served as the announcer for the evening.
This year featured:
- Portal Middle and High School band and flag football team
- Cheer South All Stars performed tumbling in honor of their 25th season.
- The Southeast Bulloch High School marching band, football and cheerleading teams with the special addition of the back to back state champion flag football team.
- The Statesboro High School marching band, football and cheerleading teams will follow.
Bulloch Academy and Portal High football teams were not able to participate due to a previously scheduled scrimmage at Paulson Stadium.
Free hotdogs prepared by the Statesboro Natural Gas were provided free to all participating teams. There will be food trucks and vendors down East Main Street.
