Averitt 'legends' take a summer vacation -- join them!

The beloved “Legends in the Arts” portraits at the Averitt Center for the Arts in downtown Statesboro have made a move! After years of quietly presiding over the second-floor conference room, these iconic images are relocating to a livelier space—the main Rosengart Gallery—just in time to welcome a new exhibit.

Their decision to “take a vacation” came when word got out that acclaimed photographer Raphael Pantin was looking for a venue to debut his latest collection. Always gracious hosts, the Legends agreed it was time for a change of scenery.

Now, they’ll be mingling with visitors by the elevator, staying in the loop with all the chatter from patrons passing by.

Can you name these Boro icons?

Stop in and say hello to the Legends in their new spot downstairs, then head up to see Raphael Pantin’s stunning photography exhibit, on display through August 20.

You can visit the Averitt Center (and its crispy cool air conditioning) for a mini vacation of your own Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. As always, admission to the galleries is free!
