Holiday Inn Express Statesboro Opens on the Blue Mile

Locally owned, Blue Mile Hospitality officially opened the new Holiday Inn Express Statesboro. The 91-room hotel is located on South Main Street in what will be the crossroads of the ambitious Creek on the Blue Mile and the Blue Mile project.

The hotel originally opened in 1998 as a Holiday Inn Express, then later converted into Baymont Inn & Suites.  The owners acquired the hotel, closed it, and began construction over a year ago.  Lavendar and Associates gutted the structure back to its original concrete and completely rebuilt the hotel in what would be a $5 million transformation.   By renovating an existing hotel, it does not change the total number of rooms available, but brings incredible new life to the hotel in addition to being a huge leap forward for the Blue Mile project.

“Because we are within walking distance of Georgia Southern University’s campus and some of Statesboro’s best local restaurants and bars, we expect this hotel to be a top choice for both business and leisure travelers visiting Statesboro and the surrounding areas.”said Ted Hasbrouck, General Manager.

The Holiday Inn Express brand is the smart choice for travelers seeking a hotel that will help them rest and go, while staying productive. This includes a built-in niche which houses the under-counter refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and extra supplies in one central location that’s away from the guest bed to reduce noise and enhance quality of sleep, multiple points of power conveniently located throughout the room and functional storage allowing guests to live out of their suitcase or unpack into a variety of storage options.
