Statesboro Service League announces annual scholarships

The purpose of the Service League is exclusively educational and charitable and is to promote volunteerism, to develop the potential of its members for voluntary participation in community affairs, to demonstrate the effectiveness of trained volunteers, and to reach out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to volunteerism.

The Statesboro Service League awards financial assistance to students who have exhibited both potential and perseverance. Applicants will be considered on the basis of service to our community, scholastic achievement, and personal growth and development.  

This year the League is pleased to offer the following scholarships and will be awarding scholarships to 4 applicants in the amount of $1,000 each:

  1. $1,000 scholarship to an incoming Freshman attending any higher education school. The applicant must have graduated from a Bulloch County school.
  2. Another $1,000 scholarship to an incoming Freshman attending any higher education school. The applicant must have graduated from a Bulloch County school.
  3. $1,000 to a current or incoming student at Georgia Southern University. The applicant must have graduated from a Bulloch County high school and/or be a current resident of Statesboro.
  4. $1,000 to a current or incoming student at Ogeechee Technical College.  The applicant must have graduated from a Bulloch County school and/or be a current resident of Statesboro.
