Ty Fisher named Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week

Georgia Southern southpaw Ty Fisher has been named the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week after a career outing on Sunday, March 26.

Fisher had an all-time performance to secure Georgia Southern's series victory over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. Fisher had his fifth complete game in his career, his third at Georgia Southern and second against Southern Miss.

In the game, he only gave up four hits and a single run, striking out seven Golden Eagles and only walking one. Fisher improved to 4-1 on the season and lowered his ERA to 2.63, the lowest among qualified pitchers on the team.His ERA is now top-10 in the Sun Belt Conference.

Fisher is a 6'4 fifth year from Tunnel Hill, Ga., studying secondary education. Georgia Southern Baseball has a series of away games, returning home on April 5 for a 3-game series with Georgia State.
