Game Notes

  • Georgia Southern caps a two-game homestand Saturday when the Eagles play host to Arkansas State on Salute to Service Day. The contest is set to tip off at 3 p.m. on ESPN+ and the Georgia Southern Sports Network.
  • It's the first and only meeting between the Eagles and Red Wolves this season.
  • The Eagles are in a stretch in which they finish the regular season with four of six contests at home. GS is 1-4 in its last five and coming off a 76-73 home win over James Madison Thursday night.
  • GS just completed a span of six of eight on the road, including the last four contests of the stint. The Eagles went 2-4 during and lost the last four road games by an average of five points.
  • Seven Eagles are scoring seven or more points a game, and only leading scorer Andrei Savrasov takes more than 10 shots a game (11/gm). Six different Eagles have led the team in scoring in a game this season.
  • The Eagles have notched single-digit turnovers in nine games. GS ranks sixth in the Sun Belt in turnover margin (1.7) and third in the league in least turnovers (11.5/gm).
  • Savrasov has posted double-digit rebounds in each of his last three games and ranks 10th (7.2/gm) in the Sun Belt in rebounding along with Carlos Curry.
  • Savrasov ranks fifth in field goal percentage (.482) and 12th in steals (1.4/gm), while Jalen Finch is 13th in steals (1.4/gm) and eighth in assists (3.4/gm). 
  • Finch has 93 assists, and the last Eagle to record 100 assists in a season was Tookie Brown, who posted 154 in 2018-19. Finch is fourth in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.16).
