Ruby Mae Taylor was born, July 17,1938, in Stilson, Georgia, to the late John Davis "J.D." and Ellabelle Cone Williams
She received her formal education in the Bulloch County School System.
Ruby was united in holy matrimony to the late Edmund Taylor Jr. To this union three children were born.
At an early age she became a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
She worked as a Domestic engineer until her health began to fail. She was then cared for by her grandson O’Bryant (B.T.) who devoted over 20 years to her and gave up many things to care for her. They were inseparable.
On Friday, June 7, 2024, Ruby Mae Williams Taylor entered rest at the Brown’s Health and Rehabilitation Center. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Taylor Jr., a grandson, Jonathan Lee, her sisters, Ella Williams, and a brother, Ronnie Williams.
She leaves to cherish memories: her children, Janice (Roosevelt) Cone, James Taylor, and Debra (John) Lee, grandchildren, Pam (Stan) Smith, Roosevelt (Shelby) Cone Jr, Jason (Sherelle)Taylor, Keith (Kendra)Taylor, O’Bryant (Chanier)Taylor, sisters, Shirley Porter, Willie Mae (Bill) Simmons and Rachel Cummings; 11 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Taylor will lie-in-state on the day of service from 2 P.M. until the funeral hour for viewing.
The funeral service for Mrs. Ruby M. Taylor, will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc., with words of comfort by Chaplin Tom Alderman. Burial will be held in the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
