Mrs. Roberta Turner, age 86, entered rest, Thursday, June 29, 2023, at her residence.
The Effingham County native was born, April 17, 1937 in Oliver Georgia, to the late Vonzie and Lindy Young Mack. At an early age she became a member of the Jordan Missionary Baptist Church, Oliver, Georgia. She received her formal education in the public school system of Screven County and worked for over thirty years as a nursing assistant and a E.M.T. for the Effingham County Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Turner. She leaves to cherish her memories: her four children, Lorinda Prince, Thomas (Tracie} Turner, Linda Turner and Gary (Casey) McGee; a brother, Joe Lewis (Anime) Mack; 7 grandchildren, Lucretia Turner, Tonya (Cedric) Lee, Marquis Turner, Travis (Tati) Prince, Justine Turner, Lexus McGee and Neriah McGee; 10 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A public viewing for Mrs. Turner, will be held, 3 pm to 6 pm, Friday, July 7, 2023, at the chapel of Hill's Mortuary. Family visitation will be held from 7 pm to 8 pm. The funeral service for Mrs. Roberta Turner, will be held at 2 pm. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Association Center, Guyton, Georgia with the Rev. Ronnie S. Tremble, officiating. Burial will be in the Jordan Missionary Baptist Church.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
