Rueben White, JR., affectionately known to family and friends as “Jr. and Papa” of Statesboro passed from this life on April 27, 2025 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia
He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was born in Sylvania, Georgia on December 29, 1950, to the union of Reuben White, Sr. and Albertha White.
He received his education in the Screven County Public School System. At an early age he became a member of Ditch Pond Missionary Baptist Church in Sylvania Georgia.
He loved spending quality time with his family. He was an excellent cook and loved to cook for his family. You were always welcomed to his dinner table. One of his favorite pastimes was watching western movies. He had a keen sense of humor and was always giving you something to laugh about.
"JR. White” was a diligent worker. He was a manager with KFC for many years. He worked in construction, which led him to become a business owner of White’s Brick Cleaning Services while simultaneously working at King Finishing Company. He ended his employment by retiring from Georgia Southern University.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Annette Kennedy; two brothers, Cleve White Sr. and Eugene White; a sister, Daisy Williams.
He passed from this life on Sunday morning, April 27, 2025, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.
Reuben White, Jr. leaves to cherish his precious memories; his children , Alphonso McKnight, Bernita White both of Statesboro, Georgia, Kedric Lainer of Guam, Lawerence (Jacquenda) Roberson, Brenda Johnson both of Statesboro, Georgia, Jacqueline (Quinton) Vickers of Pearson, Georgia and Aretha Roberson of Statesboro, Georgia; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; His siblings, Bobby Gene White of Sandersville, Georgia; Bobby Joe (Bonnie) White of Savannah, Georgia; Ulysses (Michael) White of Bowie, Maryland; Nathaniel White of Valdosta, Georgia; Glory M. Perry of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Lena (Roy) Tremble of Statesboro, Georgia; Patricia (Felix) Ramirez of Rincon, Georgia; Anita White of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Cassie Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia; a sister in law, Phyllis White of Statesboro, Georgia.
He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A close friend that was like a brother, James Easterling and a very good friend Leo Polk.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 4PM-7PM at Whitesvilleille Full Gospel Worship Center, 306 Shelby Street, Statesboro, GA 30458.
Family and friends are invited to share in the celebration of life service on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the hour of 11AM at Whitesville Full Gospel Worship Center. The body will lie in-state at 10 AM. Bishop Larry Jones, Eulogist. Interment will follow in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
