Minister Dewayne Milton Rollins

January 5, 1974 - August 8, 2024

Pastor Dewayne Milton Rollins, age 50, entered rest Thursday, August 8, 2024, at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice and his loving family.

He was born January 5, 1974, in Washington D.C. to Pastors Milton and Jennie Rollins. In 1978 he and his family all moved to Georgia.

He received his formal education from the Emanuel County Schools System where he gained his high school diploma. After graduation he attended Voorhees College where he received a commercial license.

He was employed with Vircon for twenty years.

Pastor Dewayne Rollins was a member of the Hope Community Baptist Church where he was ordained as a licensed minister of the Gospel. He served as the pastor of the Rountree Chapel Baptist Church where he pastored for ten years.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Gladys Denise Lockett Rollins, one daughter, Tanaychea Groer, a stepdaughter, Katrena Hughes, two stepsons, Keon Hughes and Rodney Parrish; his parents, Pastors, Milton and Jennie Rollins, two brothers, Anthony (Chandra) Rollins and Milton (Michelle) Rollins; four sisters, Michelle A. Rollins, Terry Williams, Rita (Randy) Sisco and Wendy Rollins; 9 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Pastor Dewayne Milton Rollins, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Hope Community Baptist Church, the Rev. Jennie Rollins, pastor, Rev. Charles Weaver, presiding and the Rev. Christopher Howard, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
