Jermaine Carlos Parker 'Chip'

April 13, 1980 - February 11, 2024

Mr. Jermaine Carlos Parker passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024.

He was born in Statesboro, Georgia, on April 13, 1980, to Harry and Ethel Parker.

 Jermaine, affectionately known as “Chip”, was raised in Rocky Ford, GA, and was a member of the 1998 graduating class of Screven County High School. He furthered his education at the Ogeechee Technical College and obtained a degree in computer systems.

 At the time of his passing, he was a dedicated employee of GAF Materials Corporation as a Coater Operator.

 “Chip” was an avid New Orleans Saints fan, a dedicated husband, loving father, and a devoted son and brother.

 He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Grace Parker; his maternal grandparents, Clinton and Annie Lee Daughtery; an uncle, Ernest Daughtery; and his sisters-in-law, Akiah Smith and Denise Sello.

 He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of twenty-four years, Yoko S. Parker, Savannah, GA; his  gifted son, Yokhorian Parker, Savannah, GA; his parents, Larry and Ethel Parker, Rocky Ford, GA; one sister, Michelle (Sherwin) Joyner, Hampton, SC; two nephews, Elijah D. Jones and Isaiah T. Joyner, both of Hampton, SC; six uncles, Nathan Parker, Rocky Ford, GA, Clinton Daughtry, Jr. (Lavern) and Ezekial Daughtry (Renia), both of Fort Pierce, FL, Curtis Daughtry (MeiAnn), Millen, GA, Richard Daughtry and jeff Daughtry (Trell), both of Sylvania, GA; five aunts, Carletha Lee, Rocky Ford, Denise Simmons (Terry) and Ruthie Lee Robbins (Rev. Uley), both of Sylvania, GA, Eula Lee Godbee and Willie Lee Mingle, both of Augusta GA; his mother-in-love, Willie Pearl Smith, Austell, GA; his in-laws, Shannon Bell (Stelvin), Hinesville, GA, Mitchell Taylor (Cecila), Atlanta, GA, Raquel Joyce (Garfield), Austell, GA, Tamyra Jackson (Charles), Stonecrest, GA, and Latoria Harris (Shondai) McDonough, GA; his close friends, of KB, a host of other relatives and friends near and far.

A viewing for Mr. Parker will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm, at Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.

The funeral service for Mr. Jermaine Carlos “Chip” Parker, will be held 1:30 pm, Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the Original First African Baptist Church, the Rev. Christopher Culbreath I, pastor, the Rev. Francys Johnson, presiding and the Elder Donald Chavers, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
