Mrs. Irma Peterson Perkins, age 69, entered rest, Monday, November 20, 2023, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
Irma Jean Peterson Perkins was the sixth child born to the late Albert and Emma Peterson, Sr. born on May 10, 1954, in Statesboro, Georgia.
She was educated in the Bulloch County School System. She furthered her education and went on to achieve her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Georgia Southern University in 1998. She also received a Master of Public Administration from Savannah State University in 2003, and her Master of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Phoenix in 2009.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two brothers - Albert Peterson Jr. and Billy Peterson, two sisters, Helen P. Rich and Virginia P. Bazemore.
To cherish a lifetime of memories, she leaves five daughters, Monica Oglesby of Statesboro, GA; Niyonu Spaulding of Statesboro, GA; Asha Spaulding of Statesboro, GA; Tauri Spaulding of Statesboro, GA; and Amie Spaulding of Atlanta, GA; one son, John C. Littles Jr. of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Daniel Peterson of Savannah, GA, John Peterson of Atlanta, GA; Vincent Peterson of Statesboro, GA; and a husband, James E. Perkins of Nevils, GA. She also leaves 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A walk-through viewing for Mrs. Perkins will be held, 4 pm to 7 pm, Friday, December 1, 2023, at the funeral home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Irma Jean Peterson Perkins will be held, 2 pm Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc. with Minister Payton Thompson, officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
