Everett LeRoy James Sr., age 92, died on Thursday, July 17th, 2025, at Pruitt-Bethany in Millen, GA.
He was born on October 16, 1932, in Bold Springs, TN, the son of Dorris James and Ester Stage James. He served with the US. Air Force during the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was stationed in many places during his 17 years in the service and later worked for over 20 years with the United States Postal Service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Drawdy James, daughter Mary Ann James, son Jeffery Wayne James, Sr., a great-grandson, Jacob LeRoy Whitten, as well as his siblings.
He is survived by his children, Everett L. James, Jr. Bryan S, James, Sr., (Amy) Lisa M. Hill, Jesse W. James (Melinda), as well as 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the chapel.
Interment will take place on Saturday, August 2nd, at James Cemetery in McEwen, TN.
