Mrs. Earnestine Goodman, age 83, entered rest Friday evening, May 24, 2024, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
The Bulloch County native was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eloise Jones Thomas.
Mrs. Goodman received her formal education in the Bulloch County School System and was a member of the Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
She worked for many years at Bulloch Memorial Hospital before being employed by East Georgia Regional Hospital, from which she retired.
In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband, Rufus Goodman, Sr, a son Randy Goodman, two sisters, Laura Nixon, Josephine Edmond, Betty Williams Drummer and Emma Jean Weaver.
Those left to cherish her memories are: her children, Cathy (Dan E.) Jackson, Sherry (Zacchaeus) Grant, Rufus (Vivian) Goodman, III. and Ricky Goodman, all of Statesboro, GA., a daughter-in-law, Patricia Goodman, Portal, GA; her brothers, Clarence Williams of Statesboro, GA; Otis (Vernita) Williams of Metter, GA; and Ronald Williams of Savannah, GA; sisters, Janice Williams Respres, Atlanta, GA; Helen Thomas, Willie Mae Thomas and Mattie Byrd; 13 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
A viewing for Mrs. Earnestine Goodman will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M., at Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
The funeral service for Mrs. Goodman, will be held, at 11 A.M., Friday, May 31, 2024, at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Maurice Hill, officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
