Mr. Don E. Wilson, age 74, entered rest, early Saturday morning, March 23, 2024, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Harvey and Lee Bertha Love Wilson.
Mr. Wilson, a Bulloch County native, was a graduate of the William James High School class of 1967 and a graduate of Savannah State College (now university).
He retired from WEAS E93 Radio Station of Savannah, where he was a radio host for many years. He was a former employee of Sears.
Deacon Don E. Wilson was a dedicated member of the Rehovia Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the deacon board.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eddie “Pete” and Bessie Wilson; his maternal grandparents, Levi and Sallie Love; an uncle, Woodrow Wilson, and his sister, Bonnie Wilson Malave.
Those who will forever cherish his memories are, his loving wife, Gloria Moss Wilson, Statesboro, GA; a son, Don E. Wilson, Jr., Statesboro, GA; a brother Ricky (Sabrina) Wilson, Prince George, VA; sisters, Sandra (Larry) Parker and Felicia (Eric) Dunlap both of Atlanta, GA; 4 grandchildren, Michael Jacobs, Tyler Jacobs, Ti’amber Wilson and Dallas Wilson; a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Wilson family will receive visitors on Thursday evening, March 28, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm, in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
Mr. Wilson will lie-in-state on the day of service, from 1 pm until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
The funeral service for Mr. Don E. Wilson will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 2 pm, at the Original First African Baptist Church 545 Westside Road Statesboro, Georgia, the Rev. Christopher Culbreath, I, Pastor, with the Rev. Frankie L. Owens, presiding and the Rev. Dr. Lewis E. Logan, II, Officiating. Burial will follow in the Rehovia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
