Allen “Larry” Sharpe, age 83, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident which took his wife of 36 years, Diane Sharpe. Mr. Sharpe was the son of the late JD and Sarah Sharpe.
Larry graduated from Southeast Bulloch High School in 1957 and spent most of his life in Nevils, Ga. He was a founding member of the Mill Branch Hunting Club which is split between Bulloch and Bryan County and covers over 7,000 acres. Larry also loved following a rabbit trail with his beagles during Beagle Hound Field Trials.
Larry was a member of Gospel Baptist Church in Claxton, GA.
Along with his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Diane Sharpe; his first wife and mother of his children, Pat Sharpe; and a brother, Jerry Davis Sharpe.
Survivors include his son and daughter, Mark Sharpe (Kathryn) and Lori Waters (Allen); grandchildren, Russ Waters (Erica), Reid Waters (Brooke), Riley Waters (Beth), Ramsey Waters (Katie); six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Deal Funeral Directors. The graveside service will follow at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Larry’s grandsons, Russ Waters, Reid Waters, Riley Waters, Ramsey, Waters; and two nephews, Jay Sharpe and Josh Sharpe.
