Rep. Sandy Donatucci reveals 2025 meeting dates for healthcare access study

State Representative Sandy Donatucci (R-Buford), chair of the House Study Committee on Improving Access to Internal Medicine in Underserved Areas, today announces the dates and locations for the 2025 meetings.

“I am truly enthusiastic about the launch of this healthcare study, which aims to address critical gaps facing underserved populations across Georgia,” said Rep. Donatucci. “This initiative represents a vital step forward in understanding and tackling the unique health challenges that exist within our communities.”

The meeting dates and locations for the 2025 meetings of the House Study Committee on Improving Access to Internal Medicine in Underserved Areas are as follows:

  • Wednesday, August 13 – Georgia Southern University
  • Tuesday, September 23 – Mercer School of Medicine
  • Wednesday, October 1 – Northside Hospital, Lawrenceville, Georgia

Specific meeting times and location information will be announced prior to each meeting.

Meetings of the House Study Committee on Improving Access to Internal Medicine in Underserved Areas will be livestreamed and are open to the public.

The members of the study committee are as follows: State Representative Angie O'Steen (R-Ambrose), State Representative Leesa Hagan (R-Vidalia), State Representative Carmen Rice (R-Columbus), State Representative Gary Richardson (R-Evans), Dr. Jean Sumner, Mercer University, Dr. John Odum, Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University and Dr. Angela Gerguis, Georgia Southern University.

Created by House Resolution 753, this study committee will evaluate the most prudent and cost-effective ways to increase access to internal medicine in underserved Georgia communities, with particular focus on those underserved communities experiencing health transportation shortages.
