You can help the market take home the $5,000 top prize in the 2024 America’s Farmers Market Celebration, presented by American Farmland Trust.
"We are buzzing about the annual Farmers Market Celebration! Hosted by the American Farmland Trust," Willow Farmer, market manager, said. "This friendly competition has helped us to bolster awareness about our grassroots market, while gauging community satisfaction and commitment over the years. It's an engaging way to get guests to advocate for us, while keeping up with the results in real time."
Market shoppers and supporters can vote for their favorite market through July 31st, 2024.
Becky Sanders, President of Visit Statesboro said, "Voting in this competition will show our local farmers that we support them and their mission to keep fresh, locally-grown produce available to everyone. There are substantial cash prizes that can help the Market and vendors, and winning would give our amazing Market even more exposure."
The market is currently in 4th place in Georgia with 181 votes, but we know our GC readers have the power to give them a final push!
The top five markets in the United States that finish in the “People’s Choice” category will receive an award. The breakdown of prize money is as follows: $5,000 for first, $2,500 for second, $1,500 for third, $750 for fourth, $250 for fifth, and $100 for 1st in each state.
These funds will be awarded to markets to go towards marketing, communications, and other needs that help expand the market’s reach and impact.
