On Friday, May 9, 2025, K9 heroes took center stage at the Georgia Police K9 Foundation's Friday Night Fiesta, a free, family-friendly celebration honoring these hard-working canines and raising funds to support and equip them for safety in the field.
"We had a very successful free community event that featured many local and regional area K9s for meet and greets. Our K9 demonstrations were led by Kris Morril with Revolutionary Canine. Our featured music was from Los Mariachis Atlanta, which the community really enjoyed," shared organization Founder, Former President, and CFO Kyle Briley.
All proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the organization's mission, "To protect and serve active and retired law enforcement K9s throughout Georgia by providing equipment, training, and care."
Thanks to funding from this event and others like it, the organization can provide protective vests, heat alarms, medical assistance for retired K9s, training, training equipment, and more.
"We thank all the sponsors who made this event possible and those who came out to support our mission," added Briley.
The evening was filled with live music, festive food, and fun, but the highlight of the night was the K9 demonstrations, which showcased the skill, discipline, and intelligence of these heroes. Attendees had the opportunity to meet both local and regional K9 teams and learn more about their specialized roles in law enforcement, service work, and community safety. These canines work search and rescue missions, save lives, and play a vital role in protecting communities.
Los Mariachis Atlanta brought high energy and authentic sounds to the event, adding a vibrant cultural flair that delighted the crowd, and the night was capped off with a "very successful" silent auction.
Organizers say they are thrilled with the turnout and hope to make Friday Night Fiesta an annual celebration of K9 courage and community.
"Everything came together to support our mission and celebrate the dogs," they shared on social media following the event.
