House heavily damaged by fire in Statesboro on Monday evening

Statesboro and Bulloch County Fire Departments responded to a house fire in the City of Statesboro on Monday, June 12, 2023. 

The call was dispatched by Bulloch County 911 at 8:04 PM and the caller to 911 reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the wood and brick home located in the 100 block of Mikell street.  It was believed that there were occupants in the home by the initial caller to 911.

The first firefighters on the scene confirmed heavy fire involvement and requested additional firefighters and engines to the scene.

The home appears to have experienced heavy smoke, fire and water damage.

There was no one in the home and no reported injuries.

Bulloch County EMS responded as a precaution and Statesboro Police Department blocked off the street and helped with crowd control.

American Red Cross temporary emergency assistance was requested for the occupants of the home.

No cause of the fire was reported at the scene.

Statesboro Fire Department will conduct a routine cause and origin investigation.
