The Georgia Southern University Business Innovation Group (BIG) is celebrating one of its incubator companies, Neighborhood Nectar, for making a national debut earlier this month at the USDA’s Great American Farmers Market on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Founded by Sade Shofidiya, Neighborhood Nectar is a Georgia Grown honey and wellness beverage company dedicated to supporting local agriculture, protecting pollinator health, and making wellness rituals sweet, simple, and accessible.

From August 3–8, the National Mall event celebrated 250 years of American agriculture, bringing together top farmers and food producers from across the country. Neighborhood Nectar’s booth featured two signature products: the Golden Glow Elixir—a handcrafted herbal honey beverage—and Wildflower Honey, a raw, small-batch honey sourced from the Southeast.

During the week, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins and U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Scott Turner visited the booth to meet Shofidiya, learn about the brand, and purchase products in support of its launch.

“This was my very first event and my official launch for Neighborhood Nectar,” said Shofidiya. “To be selected to vend here, in such a historic space, alongside so many incredible farmers—it means everything. As a very small farmer and the only full-time person in my business, I truly appreciate the USDA’s support in making this possible. The resources, and encouragement I’ve received through Georgia Southern’s Business Innovation Group have been essential in helping me prepare for opportunities like this.”

Neighborhood Nectar operates out of BIG’s Statesboro-based incubator, where entrepreneurs gain access to business development resources, mentorship, and a collaborative environment to accelerate their growth.
