Child Advocacy Services SEGA to host benefit duck race

Child Advocacy Services SEGA, Inc. is hosting the 2023 CASA Ogeechee Duck Race on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Splash in the Boro! At 12 PM, 1,000 Ducks will be dropped in the lazy river and the first place duck has the opportunity to choose between a week-long stay at the Ocean Palms Villas on Hilton Head Island or a $500 gift card, and second place getting the remaining prize.

In 2021, the CASA Ogeechee Duck Race raised $10,000 which is the equivalent of recruiting, training and supporting 10 CASA Volunteers who advocate for children experiencing foster care due to abuse or neglect.

This biannual event will benefit over 60 children in foster care that are currently served by CASA Ogeechee and helps them train 10 additional community volunteers to get them closer to their service goal of 100%. Please visit www.casaogeechee.org/duck to purchase a duck while they last! Only 1,000 ducks will be sold.

Child Advocacy Services SEGA, Inc. is the sponsoring agency for CASA Ogeechee and the Ogeechee Visitation Centers. CASA Ogeechee serves Bulloch, Effingham, Jenkins, and Screven Counties. CASA speaks up for children who have been abused or neglected by empowering community volunteers who advocate for the children in the court system. When the state steps in to protect a child’s safety, a Juvenile Judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to make independent and informed recommendations to serve the child’s best interests.

In 2022, CASA Ogeechee celebrated 20 Years of Advocacy in the counties of Bulloch, Screven, Jenkins, and Effingham. For more information, visit www.casaogeechee.org, email kristen@casaogeechee.org or call (912) 764-4849.
