A member of the Bulloch County Recreation and Parks (BCRP) was named to the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) Hall of Fame at the GRPA Annual Conference earlier this month in Athens.

Eddie Canon, Director of BCRP was inducted into the GRPA Hall of Fame at the Nov. 8 conference. This is the highest honor bestowed upon a GRPA member, Bulloch County Recreation and Parks said in a news release.

Canon has served in the GRPA for 45 years at various departments and is well deserving of the award, the department said.

The Hall of Fame award was established to recognize any individual or organization that has made unusual and extraordinary contributions to the recreation, parks or conservation movement in Georgia.

To provide paramount recognition for an individual or organization, the award is limited to two individuals a year.
