Another great season from The Statesboro Top Spinners

This past weekend, the Statesboro Top Spinners traveled to Macon to compete in the Junior Team State Championships after winning the Southeast Georgia Sectional in the fall by going undefeated for the fourth year in a row. 

The team is made up of players from Statesboro High School, Southeast Bulloch High School, Screven County High School, Savannah Christian and William James Middle School. The team opened up with a 5-0 victory over Macon on Friday and followed that up with a 4-1 win over Atlanta on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning, the team defeated Gainesville 5-0. 

Statesboro then faced Augusta Saturday afternoon with a spot in the semifinals on the line and came away with a 5-0 victory.  In the semi-finals on Sunday morning, it was a battle against Rome that Statesboro came out on top of 3-2 to advance to the finals for the second year in a row. 

Statesboro matched up against Buford in the championship and lost a close match by a 2-3 score.
