Vaccine providers locally are reporting high vaccine supply, but sluggish demand. Even with the expansion beginning Monday that includes teachers and education staff. Vaccine resistance is VERY high in all eligible categories. This seems to be tracking what other rural communities are reporting which is creating high vaccine supply. However, it is the opposite in metro areas. FEMA announced last week they are opening a super vaccination site at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta with the capacity of 6,000 COVID vaccines daily. The center will operate 7 days per week. Many of the providers feel that it is time to open the vaccines to anyone who wants them. The eligibility tiers are adding to the confusion that is causing some of the low vaccine numbers. Georgia continues to rank at the bottom in vaccine distribution and administration. Currently Georgia is ranked 49 out of 50. Just behind Alabama (48) and ahead of Kansas (50).
