Since the Governor made the announcement last week that he will be expanding COVID vaccines to teachers Grice Connect and local vaccine providers have been receiving calls regarding information as to how to get scheduled for the vaccine.
Local providers have now opened COVID vaccine appointments for next week in preparation for the Monday, March 8th expanded eligible group. This includes Pre-K through 12 educators and staff, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers, and parents of children with complex medical conditions will be eligible for vaccinations.
People 65+ and their caregivers, health care workers, law enforcement and fire personnel, along with long-term care facilities' residents and their caregivers continue to be eligible for the vaccine also.
Forest Heights Pharmacy is beginning to schedule appointments as early as 6 AM to accommodate teachers.
Other providers are also working to accommodate as many newly eligible citizens as possible. They encourage you to call as soon as possible to schedule your appointment. Local providers are increasing supply to accommodate this increase in eligible citizens.
Bulloch County Health Department (DPH) announced that they will begin accepting appointments for teachers and the expanded group on Saturday, March 6th for appointments the week of March 8th.
