"We hope that this program will continue to make strides for many years down the road."

Justin Chester - Portal Middle High School, Athletic Director

Portal Middle High School, 1A Division 2, finished 18th in the state out of 25 teams. Justin Chester, Athletic Director said, “the race had 164 runners. The Panther team’s average was 24:57. Mason Barnes, 10th grade, was the fastest runner for Portal finishing the tough Carrollton course with 21:59. The team will lose two seniors, Kyle Haddock and Pierce Anderson, so many racers will be returning next year, and they understand they all need to shave their time down significantly to finish better at state. The team had a great experience in Carrollton. We hope that this program will continue to make strides for many years down the road.”
