Local temperatures are expected to be below freezing in the early mornings through Monday, Jan. 22. These are a few reminders to help prepare children to go to school in colder weather and to help keep them safe:
- Buses and school buildings are warm.
- Make sure your child is dressed warmly, especially if they will be waiting at a bus stop.
- Expect bus routes to run later due to buses being slower to crank and possible road conditions.
- Bus drivers will wait a little longer at each stop as children may wait for the bus inside a home or vehicle due to the cold. This may also lengthen routes.
- Elementary schools decide each day if recess will be outside based on weather conditions.
