Bulloch County Schools' employees have earned 10 national and state awards during the 2024-2025 school year. Faculty and staff were honored by state associations and national education companies for  their excellence in leadership, accountability, teaching, and innovation across multiple disciplines.

  • Elizabeth Hartley, Therapeutic Allied Health & Medicine Teacher, Southeast Bulloch High School
    • Named as one of only 12 national ambassadors for health science education by the National Consortium for Health Science Education 
    • Named as the New Allied Health Teacher of the Year by Georgia’s Healthcare Science Technology Educators Association (HSTEA)
    • New Teacher of the Year Award finalist by the Georgia Association for Career & Technical Education
    • Successfully earned National Industry Certification for the Therapeutic Allied Health & Medicine career pathway for a fourth time. National Industry Certification is a distinction that serves as the gold standard for career and technical education programs.

    • Selected as a Fellow by the Georgia Department of Education for its Teacher Policy Fellowship 
  • Chad Farrell, Special Education Teacher, Statesboro High School
    • Selected as the Georgia Council for Learning Disabilities' Teacher of the Year
  • Bulloch County Schools' Finance Department, Central Office
    • One of only 25 school district's to receive the Georgia Department of Audits & Accounts'
      Award of Distinction for Excellent Financial Reporting for Fiscal Year 2024 audits. The school district has received this award multiple times. 
    • The Finance Department is Alison Boatright, chief financial officer; Accounting Specialists Sandi McGalliard, Ashleigh Wynn and Elizabeth Harris; Lisa Sells, payroll coordinator; and Pam Girardeau, accounting & payroll specialist.
  • Hayley Greene, Bulloch County Schools Public Relations Director, Central Office
    • Awarded the Anne Raymond Distinguished Service Award by the Georgia School Public Relations Association. Greene was also awarded GSPRA's Marie Wofford Professional Award in 2020.
  • Misty Anderson, School Improvement Specialist, Sallie Zetterower Elementary School
    • Awarded the Gold-level Rookie of the Year Award by Otus, a leading k-12 assessment, data, and insights company. Bulloch County Schools provides the company’s resources to its faculty and schools to benefit student achievement and school improvement efforts.
