Students in Ogeechee Technical College’s Agribusiness program recently received hands-on training from industry professionals at Blanchard Equipment, gaining valuable insight into modern agricultural technology.

Jessie Neidlinger, Equipment Precision Ag Manager and OTC graduate, joined fellow alumni Landon Smith, Precision Ag Consultant, and team member Joey McCorkle to lead the interactive session. The group walked students through the mechanics of the John Deere 6110R tractor and demonstrated the capabilities of the GreenStar system, a suite of advanced precision agriculture technologies designed to boost efficiency and productivity on the farm.

“We are incredibly grateful for our partners at Blanchard Equipment for coming by our program and spending some quality instruction time with our students,” said Agribusiness Instructor Nicholas Cassell. “They are also donating a modem to our program that will allow us to better utilize and implement precision agriculture technologies.”

Following the instructional session, students had the opportunity to take the wheel themselves, using the autoTrac feature to operate the tractor around OTC’s grounds and gain real-time experience with GPS-guided steering.

This partnership underscores OTC’s commitment to providing relevant, career-focused training that prepares students for today’s evolving agricultural industry.
