The chorus is a combination of two groups -- The Sons of Jubal and the Jubalheirs. In addition to their own respective concerts, the groups unite several times a year to perform under the direction of Jon Duncan.

One of the event planners Sammy Kicklighter encourages guests to arrive no later than 6:30 in order to secure a good seat. "This is the largest choral event of its kind ever in the history of Statesboro," Kicklighter said. Over 300 singers and 75 instrumentalists are slated to perform at Thursday's event.

According to Kicklighter, the singers and orchestra members travel at their own expense to dozens of concerts each year. An optional love offering will be collected during the event to fund ongoing missions projects.
