The American Legion Dexter Allen Post 90 invites Veterans and community members to a grand and heartfelt tribute to honor the selfless service of our Veterans. The Averitt Center for the Arts, located at 33 East Main Street in downtown Statesboro, is once again the host for the Veterans Day Program on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
Outside Music will be performed by the Portal Middle High School Band beginning at 9:45am. Inside the Emma Kelly Theater, music will be provided by Isaac Sherrod from 10:30am to 11am.
The DAR will provide coffee and doughnuts from 10:30am to 11:00am, as well. The program will begin at 11:00am and will be keynoted by Ken Yasger.
The Veteran's Day program, generously sponsored by Averitt Center for the Arts, in partnership with the American Legion Dexter Allen Post 90 and Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, is a distinguished and heartwarming event dedicated to honoring the valor and dedication of our veterans.
This program stands as a shining example of the community's deep appreciation for those who have served our nation. Within the elegant surroundings of the Averitt Center for the Arts and with the attendance of the Portal Middle High School Band and Bulloch County Sheriff's Honor Guard, attendees are treated to moving speeches, inspirational musical performances, and a solemn presentation of the colors.
The event brings together veterans, their families, and the community at large, uniting in a collective expression of gratitude and respect. It serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our veterans and underscores the importance of recognizing and supporting their service.

Everyone is invited to Post 90 (100 Rucker Lane, Statesboro) for a free picnic lunch (Hamburgers, Hotdogs, and all the fixings) after the program.
