Goodwill SE Georgia will showcase hiring and training opportunities next week

Goodwill Southeast Georgia will celebrate Goodwill Week May 7-13 with series of hiring and training events across its Opportunity Centers, including the Statesboro location. The celebration will include a community ribbon-cutting for a new Opportunity Center in Jesup, the fifth of its kind in the region.

Goodwill Week is an annual celebration to remind the community of the no-cost resources available through Goodwill. One-on-one career coaching is available, as well as courses to learn resume-building, interview and digital skills. Hiring and training events are held on a regular basis in partnership with local employers.

The following free career readiness events will take place at the Statesboro Goodwill Opportunity Center next week, May 8-12, 2023. All events are from 10am-3pm. The center is located near Lowe's at 24015 US-80, Statesboro, GA, 30461.

Monday: “Let’s get Career Ready” – Resume, cover letters, mock Interviews, career interest assessment, digital literacy assessments and how to dress for success.

Tuesday: Resource Fair – Georgia Department of Human Services Fatherhood Program, Ogeechee Tech Adult Education Program, Union Mission, South Georgia Healthy Start, Global Life, and Mary Kay.

Wednesday: Grand Opening of our Jesup Opportunity Center.

Thursday: Career Fair – Envirovac, Aspen Aerogels, All Ways Caring, Primecare Homecare, Smith State Prison.

Friday: Let’s Learn – Overview of the services offered at the opportunity center (training, job readiness, scholarships).
