GALLERY | The Greater Statesboro Pickup

Volunteers during the Greater Statesboro Pickup removed 400 POUNDS of trash from our community in observance of Earth Week 2024.

Earth Week 2024 came to a successful end with the "The Greater Statesboro Pickup" on Sunday, April 28. Volunteers arrived at the Statesboro-Bulloch County Library to be assigned to a pickup zone, then were equipped with a vest and pickup gear.

The Great American Cleanup is one of the nation’s largest community improvement programs that Keep America Beautiful sponsors annually. Nearly 15,000 communities in the United States participate every year.

Among the local areas flagged for trash pickup were Matthews Road, Packinghouse Road, West Jones, East Oliff, Little Lotts/McTell Trail. Volunteers picked up trash in these areas from 2pm to 4pm.
