The Averitt Center is offering a new dance class for kids ages 7-11 called Zumba Kids.
In this new class, the kids will get the chance to be active and jam out to their favorite music.
Zumba Kids classes feature kid-friendly routines based on the original Zumba choreography. The instructor will teach by breaking down the dance steps while adding games, activities, and cultural exploration elements.
This class will also help develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of children's lives by making fitness fun.
Classes incorporate key childhood development elements like leadership, respect, team work, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, coordination, and cultural awareness.
Jean Donovan will be teaching this class for six Saturdays (October 9-November 13) from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Whitaker Black Box Theater on 41 West Main Street.
The price is only $10 each for all six Saturdays. Call Tony Phillips to sign up at 912-212-2787.
Scholarships are available for this class for qualifying applicants through the Roosevelt Cone, Jr. Scholarship Foundation. For more information about the scholarship for you, call 912-541-2809
